The story
Brief to handover.
The idea
A resort that belongs to the riverbank: relaxed, shaded and open to the breeze. The proposal is a series of low pitched-roof pavilions in laterite stone, terracotta tile and dark timber, stepping gently towards the water so the landscape leads and the buildings stay quiet.
The layout
Guest cottages open onto deep verandas and a long infinity pool facing the river, with a restaurant and an open event lawn for celebrations. Each pavilion is oriented for shade and cross-ventilation, and paths, lawns and planting are drawn alongside the buildings.
Where it stands
This is a proposed project. The images shown are concept visuals prepared to explain the design intent; the resort has not been built.
